Description:
Avignonesi is the leading estate in Montepulciano and their
world class Vin Santo is the most sought after in Tuscany
and Italy.Occhio di Pernice is made is the same way as
the Avignonesi Vin Santo except here the wine is made from
the red grape Sangiovese and the wine is also aged for 10
years in caratelli
and then bottled for 12 months prior to release.
The wine is deep amber in colour, full bodied with an intense bouquet
of dried fruits, spice and vanilla. On the palate it
is also unctuous, rich and with incredible length.
The wine should be served in a wide glass at just below
room temperature.
