Description:
Chateau Guiraud sits adjacent to the vineyards of Chateau
d'Yquem. The estate underwent significant investment
in the 1980's with the owners determined to make Guiraud a
truly great Sauternes. The chateau ruthlessly selects
only the best grapes and uses at least 50% new French oak.
The wine exhibits wonderful botrytis character and is
particularly luscious, rich and creamy. This wine is
just starting to be approachable now but those that can wait
another 3 - 5 years will be truly rewarded.
