Description:
The Constantia valley is the oldest vineyard region in the Cape first producing wine in 1689. In the 18th Century the original farm produced ‘Constantia’, prized throughout Europe by leaders and aristocracy. Today the family owned Klein Constantia has helped to reclaim its former glory by initiating the revival of this famous sweet wine.
Grapes were left to raisin on the vines and were then hand-selected. The wine has benefited from 18 months in French Oak and 5 years in bottle.
Richly viscous in the glass with a burnt orange-gold hue, this wine exhibits youthfully fresh muscat aromas and exotically spicy flavours on the palate. Well balanced by brisk acidity and an attractive bitter orange twist on finish.
