Description:
Chateau de Fargues has been owned by the Lur-Saluces family,
former owners of Chateau d'Yquem, since
1472. They adopt the same strict harvest selection as
at Chateau d'Yquem but the wine costs considerably less than
the family's former icon. The wines are aged in one
year old bariques that were previously used at Chateau
d'Yquem.
The 2003 vintage was a hot year producing very good
conditions for the onset of botrytis in late summer.
Production is very small with sometimes only 500 cases
produced per annum. The wine will benefit from a least
10 years in bottle.
