Description:
This is a modern Tokaji and Dobogo's aim is total quality.
Their grapes are sourced solely from first class vineyards
around the villages in the heart of the Tokaji zone.
The harvest takes place at various stages late in the
season. First, they make the base wine from shriveled and
partly botrytised grapes. They then add 136kg of botrytised
(aszu) grapes to every 136 litres of base wine. Following
maceration, the aszu berries are gently pressed and the
young wine is transferred to large oak barrels, where it is
aged for three years.
Typical golden amber in colour, the wine has a wonderful
cleanliness of intense, apricoty fruit on the nose. On the
palate, it is rich and sweet yet finishes dry with superb
length. Only 8000 bottles were produced.
