Description: The
legendary Istvan Szepsy is to Tokaji what Château Yquem is
to Sauternes. The wine is made from Furmint,
susceptible to raisining and noble rot, or Aszú in Hungary.
This was an outstanding vintage with lots of body and full
flavour aided because Szepsy uses 100% Hungarian wood for
both aging and fermentation. The wine is still young and has
yet to show its true potential, rewarding those with
patients to cellar.
A lovely wine, with high sugar but thrilling balance and
harmony. Aromas are rich and creamy leading to a spicy,
cinnamon note on the palate, with pineapple and grapefruits
as well. Acidity is high, and the length is long and
complex. A true classic.
